I have a stock 1994 Amigo 4x4. Im considering lifting it and putting it on some meatier tires soon but I'm not sure the 2.6L will handle the extra weight and whatnot.

Recently I aquired a 1989 Buick Park Avenue with a 3.8L V6. The engine needs a bit of routine work but unfortunately (well, forunately for me!) it blew a freeze plug from sitting. Its the FWD version.

I was wondering if it would be worth swapping the 3.8L into the Amigo, and if there was anything I would need to watch out for. From what I understand, it will bolt up to a 60* bell housing, but will my whole tranny/transfer need to be swapped as well? I would much prefer to keep the truck a stick.

Ive been searching for a few weeks but havent really found much of a definative answer. Mostly undocumented swaps or swaps of other engines. Thanks for your help..
