What Flannelman said Try disconnecting it, pop a new fuse in, and flip the turn signal on and see what happens.
BTW - Northern Tool has a great selection of trailer stuff. I seem to recall them having the entire direct plug in kit for the T100's, as well as just the converter boxes themselves. Or you can eBay them as well.

Hmm I'll have to look around some more when I put it back together originally I just put a regular connector on so I have running lights and turn signals but no brake lights on what I'm towing. I wouldn't mind getting another of the factory style converters and just taking some steps to help weather proof it so that the same thing doesn't happen all over again.

Here F-man-- dug this out from a Runner post. Got mine at NAPA.
***** My 99 Runner needed a new plug; broken ground. I haven't had time to plug it in yet, but NAPA has it for $34, part 775-1838; says it's for a 2000 Tundra.
Has the 4 pin flat connector, the converter, and a female plug; you might dig around underneath the bed and see if you have a harness terminal back there before you go looking for parts. ****

I saw a pretty cool trouble shooting trick on Xtreme 4x4 one day. Find and old headlight, connect a couple of leads to the terminals and plug them in, in place of your fuse. Go through your wiring harness and wiggle it until the light comes on, or until it goes off. That will show you the location of the short. I don't know if they put in an in-line fuse or not, but I would THINK that he headlight would offer enough resistance to keep from burning anything up. If would keep it from acting like a dead short. Just a thought, but it looked like a good idea. Hope this helps. Let me know if you try it and it works.
