Depends on whether or not the temp now is below 40 degrees. That's when the cold start injector switch kicks in to start it easier. Does it make you hold the starter switch to "start" longer than normal (like forever) to start or are you talking about it runs like crap because it is colder outside than previously started and ran?

Mine didn't run poorly after it started, it just hated to get started. Once running, it was fine.

If any of it makes any sense, try to bump the starter a bunch of times instead of grinding on it and that gives more of a shot of gas to it than continual turning over, see it that helps any and you may know what you need to look into.
