Getting the Wheeling Fever
I have a 93 pickup with a 22re. The past few days it has been taking longer to start then normal, and running really poorly until warmed up. Today my truck wouldnt start at all. I sprayed some ether in through the throttle body and it still didnt start so i dont think it is a cold start injector problem, which was my first guess, or anything like that so i have no idea where else to start looking. Anyone have any ideas?

Depends on whether or not the temp now is below 40 degrees. That's when the cold start injector switch kicks in to start it easier. Does it make you hold the starter switch to "start" longer than normal (like forever) to start or are you talking about it runs like crap because it is colder outside than previously started and ran?

Mine didn't run poorly after it started, it just hated to get started. Once running, it was fine.

If any of it makes any sense, try to bump the starter a bunch of times instead of grinding on it and that gives more of a shot of gas to it than continual turning over, see it that helps any and you may know what you need to look into.

yeah it is fine once it has started, and it has been colder than 40 out the past few days. I will try bumping the starter to see if that works. Thanks for the advice. I just hate dumping any money into anything without even knowing where to start.

well it's not the cold start injector, it was starting for a while in below freezing temps, but now it has warmed up to about fourty, and it is doing the same thing again my next guess is somehere in the spark delivery, but i just changed out the cap and wires a couple months ago. So i am stumped.
