Currently, i have to drive a Grand Am as my DD, i drive a good 200-300 miles a week on average. Which averages like 20 mpg anyways.

I know Gen 1 Montero 2 drs are around 18ish on average. So i wasn't too worried about MPG. Only thing is i don't want to have the 18, only to put tires on it and notice a huge decrease in it. Aslong as i can average a good 15+ i really don't mind.

I'm not too worried about the whole braking part. I realize that it will be harder, but for whatever reason i am alot more safer and drive a bit slower in any SUV i am in when it comes to driving.

In small cars....let's just say i'm lucky cops aren't around

I agree, i feel with 31" i will just end up losing money by taking them off, reselling them, to put 33"s on it eventually.

The brakes also will probably be replaced eventually, when i can find a v6 montero of course. I was close to buying another raider in my area, and stealing the brakes, then parting that sob out, but i didn't have the money at the time. Well, i did, but i didn't know my income after that and would be short on other things needed for it, but then i started working 30-40 hours (I'm 16 mind you, so...thats a bit for me) so i probably could have gotten it. :[

I'm trying to make this the best it can be, to an extent of course. My carb is in decent condition i'd say, i was looking at replacing it with a weber carb. But my father thinks it's a waste of time, and "carbs are things you don't mess with unless needed". (Of course, he also says spending anymore money then the cheapest ***** i can get is stupid for this POS, yet he paid to put a motor in it )

leading edges of the fenderwell insides were trimmed.

This was what i was questioning, i already plan on taking my bumper stops off so i'm not worried about that. But the fenderwells? Like the lower end of the fender? Near the bumpstop on the front i assume?

How much should i take off, or do you think it would be fine if i drove my SUV home and then trimmed em once the tires were on?

Edit: What exactly is different from the 4cyl to v6 brakes? And I can only get it from a junkyard, or a parted out vehicle right?
