Brownie, I don't know what your trails are like in your part of Texas, But there's got to be a few that're rough enough to consider airing down. BTW, have you ever aired your tires down while four wheeling your CJ? If not, try it.
Personally, I almost always air down my rig's tires for any and all trails just for a pleasant ride offroad. This discussion reminds me of some guys from Washington State with some great built-up Chevy PUs who tagged along with our group in Moab for the Prichet Canyon Trail. When they asked what we were all doing next to our rigs at the start of the trail, it was as if we were speaking a foreign language to them. After they made a few attempts at some waterfalls, it wasn't long before they were asking to borrow some air gages and discussing how low they should lower the air pressure in their tires.
