This may be incidental, but I seem to have noticed more Pajero's being sold by owners, rather than importers, lately. A result of more being in the country, or a symptom of something else? Most Paj owners still happy with their rigs?

Just curious...borderline on adding a Paj to the stable here.

Cheers...

I think more in the country, but what do I know - I'm obviously not in touch with reality, seeing as this is my fourth...

You've sold 3? Shame on you. Pajeros are for life.

But yeah, there are more Fairladys and Skylines for sale too.

Well, technically they were Monteros, so maybe that doesn't count. And one wasn't sold, it was decomissioned and combined with my third...which is owned by a buddy of mine so its still in the family so to speak. But I digress.... I think its only natural to see more for sale by owner now, since the genII has been available for two years. Many folks tell me they're selling only to get another.

The JDM market is flooded here in BC, Delicas are $8000 on Craigslist. 3 months ago the were minimum $10,000. Buyers beware! The curbers are trying to make as much as they can and do as little as they can to keep $profit$ up. People (flippers) are borrowing to buy them from Japan and then realize how much work and how much time they are investing into the vehicles and then $hitting that they are $8000 in and dump them. Besides the cheapies are the ones that sat in Japan for 8 - 10 years and gained the 80,000 km in the fist 5 - 7 years of their life.
P.S anyone want to buy my Pajero? (just joking)

Still a better way to go than buying a 15 year old local vehicle though.

The biggest reason why most people (individuals) are selling them is to make a profit. At the end of the road, you may end up making 2,000 or so depending on what you got it for and what you are asking.

I don't fall into that category as the work/parts that was done on mine fall in line with what I am asking.

To be honest, other that reasons like mine (Strata will not allow that high of vehicle in my underground lot) and people moving, etc... flipping them to make some profit is really the only reason I've seen when I asked around.

It's too bad because if gives others who have genuinely solid rigs for sale a harder time. But then again, not really. If a trustworthy mechanic were to look at mine as an example and compare it to 'most' at the dealer's and private. The differences will be quite apparent.

But it looks like we're keeping ours. I just have to finalize swapping a parking unit without the sprinkler overhang with another owner and then we're home free !

Interesting that the BC market is flooded -but I haven't seen any advertised here in Ontario. There is a JDM dealer in Toronto but he only had a few cars including a Bentley . It seems to cost only around $1K to rail/car carrier cars to Ontario but for some reason the RHD movement doesn't seem to have spread this way yet

Getting the Wheeling Fever
I am thinking about selling mine as I have a work truck that I use for everything So the Pajero sits at home. I make a habit to drive it once a week. So if any one is interested give me a shout
