My dad had some rod like that. It works pretty well. We tried it on an Aluminum Pop Can and it worked really well. put a hole in the botton of the can and took a propane torch it the can to get it hot and then did the same to the rod and it went right to the hole and sealed it up. Filled it with water, and it held a good seal. I never really used it for anything myself. But he used it on his boat for the aluminum Trim and tie off points that broke on him. and his truck box as well.

I personally have never used it. Speaking from 2nd hand, lol.

Do they give samples? Id see if you can try it first before you actually bought some.
