they aren't lifted, they just come with a 31" tire and a much stiffer coil spring set. the stiff coils are for a couple different reasons, so they can handle the abuse of really getting used off-road and so that the tires don't rub as much under compression.

during the early 90's Jeeps came from the factory with an optional 1" UpCountry brand lift. they discontinued that in the late 90's or very early 2000's.
