well the higher the spring rate, the higher it will sit in the rear. they are all the same length, just a different spring rate.

I do not know honestly how much of a difference. but I read somewhere that a spring out of a rubicon hardtop (the 106) would lift a regular tj 1-2" but I could not find any other info on that being true.

rubicons are lifted from the factory, that is why they will lift the regular tj's the 2"
a stiffer spring rate will give you a harsher ride, all depends on how much higher it is. it will also allow for more weight, which is why they put a higher spring rate in the hard top models to compensate for the extra weight and maintain the same ride characteristics.

in our case from what i have heard is that the tj springs are stiffer than ours to begin with, so going to the highest spring rate would lift a little more and be a slightly harsher rider. may not absorb the bumps as well.

they aren't lifted, they just come with a 31" tire and a much stiffer coil spring set. the stiff coils are for a couple different reasons, so they can handle the abuse of really getting used off-road and so that the tires don't rub as much under compression.

during the early 90's Jeeps came from the factory with an optional 1" UpCountry brand lift. they discontinued that in the late 90's or very early 2000's.
