You could wrist the montero trailing arm and get the same results and it would be easier on bushings but i think it would be tougher on the arm itself. I plan on replacing the old bushings with poly ones anyways. Wristing is a good idea for the ford setup because of the wedge design. On the montero you accomplish the exact same thing by replacing the rear bolt with a pin and removing it out on the trail.

When you do a wrist on a ford setup it gets pinned onroad as well. So its the same concept as a wrist but on the montero since they're not bolted to a wedge there is no need to cut the trailing arm.
Just like on a wrist setup you will get axle wrap if both arms are done, but you will get the most flex having both arms wristed or rear bolt removed. So you need a link connecting the top of the axle to the frame.

You should do it Nathan, I'd like to see more monteros suspension altered. It doesn't cost much to do it so why not, wristed or pinned doesn't matter. Another thing to do would be a heim joint at the top of the trailing arm instead of the doughnut bushings.
