the gen 1 monty's and early gen 2's with 12V 3.0 didn't get the same tranny like the Isuzu's,yota's, and 24V powered monty's did so the bellhousing swap is out for him.

Yes you did, and I decided that Tay needs forced induction. No more worries about bellhousings or tranny swaps.

Well Toasty, I am going to keep shopping for your axle cause sometimes I find really good deals! I just got a do it yourself beadlock kit with four wheels and a set of 35x15.5x15 TSLs. Today I should be getting a whole set of 35 bfg muds almost brand new, still have extra rubber things on them.

So as far as the swap goes, if I need to swap engine and tranny I might aswell swap the factory t-case also. So what vehicles came with the 4.3, auto or manual tranny and a good t-case? I am going to look for totaled vehicles and just try and buy the whole thing for he swap. I have a connection on totaled 4x4s from an insurance company. What types of t-cases came behind the 4.3 and what types of trannys? My Mitsu has enough room to use a 2wd tranny and a divorced t-case but those cost alot these days.

If that's the case, you should use a 4wd tranny and go the doubler route. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
