Before, I mentioned the TBI 4.3 with harness and ECU. I also have a 700R4 rebuilt with all TCI parts, off road shift kit and torque converter. Finally, I have a spare NP 231. So, I have a full drivetrain ready to swap in. I didn't use it because I got a helluva deal on newer stuff that can be smogged. Let me know if you want it and we can figure out a way for you to get it...

A conversation I had on another board. Would this axle work in a Montero swap Toasty? Price is high but its a good axle.

Being NOS, it's never been installed in a vehicle... It is complete from disc to disc incl strg linkage, hubs & brgs, & dust-shield/caliper brkts.
Have NOS calipers & pads which could be installed as well.
Not gonna be cheap, but open to reasonable offers...

I guess ya'll are looking for a driver side drop? I have a front 44 out of a '76 Blazer, but it is a pass side drop...and needs some TLC....am looking to get rid of it for cheap.

Yes, it'll work. I'm using that axle for my truck.

I don't have one, but you definitely should be using a D60...

some of this belongs in tech guys. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> I think i might make a custom front axle, the only thing i could find to be perfect for the montero is a custom curry 9", so i might hybrid the mitsu 9" W/ Chebby 1/2 ton front and upgraded shafts. Seems the cheapest route and my neighbor has a steel table to setup an axle fixture on, Thats what he uses to make custom Toyota axles.

DISCLAIMER: I have no real world experience to back any of my statements since I'm a tard who can't seem to get his own build off the ground...
I think you're on a good course with the 9". They are pretty beefy. The half ton parts will be your weak link, it seems to me. I don't know what size tires you plan to run, but if you're going to go through the trouble/expense to make a custom axle, why don't you start with a 1 ton axle? Then you won't have to worry about it in the future, and D60 stuff is a dime a dozen. I regret getting rid of my full width HP D44 front and D60 rear combo. The Waggy axles will PROBABLY be ok, but with the money I've spent, it's kind of ridiculous that I'll only have half ton axles.
I just want my damn truck finished.

I believe I can move the last 3 pages over into Mitsu tech for you guys; holler. Thanks Toasty.
