I guess ya'll are looking for a driver side drop? I have a front 44 out of a '76 Blazer, but it is a pass side drop...and needs some TLC....am looking to get rid of it for cheap.

Yeah would be good if it were Driverside. The reason for using half tone to hybrid the 9" is because the 44 and the GM 10 bolt both have slightly larger shaft dia (d44=1.31 + 19 spline, GM 10 Bolt=1.280 + 28 spline, Mitsu 9"=1.200 + 28 spline). You see so if i buy upgrade shafts I can cut them down and have them resplined to fit the mitsu diff, plus cut and respline the originals for spares. I have a friend who can write me a cnc program so that i'll never have to worrie about hard to find parts, I can just buy the chebby parts, setup the mill and run program. The 9" diff is just hella strong it'll snap it's stock shafts way before the diff blows and the 10 bolt is the other way around at least with chromoly shafts it'll blow the R&P before the shaft. I plan on cooking up a badass front axle, I'll do a writup in tech. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Lets face it chebby axles and machine shops are easier to find than Gen 2's in the junk yards
