Good engine. I'm using same gen 4.3. The wiring harness will be a pain in the @ss to go through, but is documented on line if you have the patience. Computer will need flashed for operation in another vehicle without VATS. In cali the setup can be smogged if you keep all emissions equipment functional and use the factory trans. I know nothing of the t-case that's in that rig.

All that said, I'd say go for it. You can pay someone to go through the harness and flash the computer. I can put you in touch with a guy whose been doing these swaps smog legal for a while now...

Point me in the right direction. Where can I find the wiring harness info? And get me the contact info for this guy you speak of. I am all over the place (due to the wife who can't make up her mind) about what I am doing with this Mitsu. One moment its "lets keep it and do the 4.3 swap", then it goes to "lets sell it and get another mitsu", then some how it goes off to "just sell it so I can buy a full size truck"..........and somewhere in there she comes up with other random options!

I like the swap idea the best.

Ok, I'll try and get some contact info so you can talk to him. I've been PMing him on Pirate and emailing him. Do you have an email I can give him? Please PM it to me. I will say that he sells complete engine/trans/preprogrammed ECU/modified wiring harness swap kits for $2600 with all smog equipment. These swaps are completely streetable in Cali and he has refereed them himself clearing smog.

You'll have to talk to him and see if he'll do the harness and computer for you to make it a stand alone emission compliant swap...

Pat, and he can wire it with his eyes shut! Plus he lives right down the street from you.

Talked to Pat. He helped out.

I have a radiator on order and a TPS and both get to the shop tomorrow. Had to go through the dealer ship to get the TPS and it cost $200.17, YIKES! The brand new radiator cost $182. The best part about getting car parts through work (other than they are at cost) is that they get delivered to me at no extra cost! I don't have to go anywhere!
