Thanks LT and Toast. Both of those suggestions may help get me there. Saying that it's easier with a chain as opposed to a belt is not helpful, but thanks for playing. I think I'll try the belt/rag trick to get SOME torque on them, stab the dist., then I can air ratchet (sp?).

Last time I did Bulldog, it took maybe a couple of hours. Can't be too much else in there. Or can there? Is this a marked trail...that's the only legal kind, and anyone would be able to find it in that case, as there's only one way in and two ways out (or vice versa). Secret's out, folks...get your free pass with the combination for the lock that's changed every month at...where is it again...oh yeah, call 480-610-3300, the Mesa District Rangers. Trail has been adopted by Copper State 4-Wheelers Club. Stay on trails, follow all rules or risk up to a $5000 fine. Area subject to closure if damage occurs. (Source: Charles Wells Guide, 2001 ed. Details may have changed and all rights are reserved by the publisher, Fun Treks, Inc.).

What happened to the days of Mendel and OnSail? We know Monte3 retreated to the hills (holding himself in reserve) and BottomFeeder had to move to boring old Oklahoma City (sorry). PoopTroop is in hiding and Eric just plain vanished. We've seen a couple more of the valley area people drift in and out and had a great time with them. I can't recall any other time when people would make fun of everybody else's equipment and give people a hard time about getting out to wheel without offering to lend a hand or to let someone borrow equipment. Maybe that's still going on, but I don't see it so much any more. Sure, there's an evolution, where some people like to get hard-core and see what it takes to apply dents, while others like to just travel trails and get from one place to another, seeing things that 99% of the rest of the population will never see, but it seems like some folks just want to think this place is all for themselves.

I am going to bust you for that. There's a new sheriff in town, and his name's Reggie Hammond...y'all be cool.

And I miss seeing Jill's b@@bs. Just sayin'.

Flame away; I'm 44; if I haven't heard it yet, shame on me. BTW, looked at a '96 SR online today. Nice. Where should the locker switch be again? If'n it ain't there, somebody's scammin', right?

Suck On This!

The locker switch is by the front cigarette lighter[color:"blue"] here , there should be a orange sticker [color:"red"] here [Linked Image]

the orange sticker means the truck has the locker '94-99, now if it's '92 or '93 and has orange sticker it could be a locker or a limited slip. '94-99 with the 3.5 will most likely have the locker unless someone replaced it.

Tell him I said Hello.

The '96 SR has the orange sticker visible. It's the red one on eBay, buy-it-now is at $3695, but it's in Mass, 2700 miles away. It also needs tires (of course). I think it has something like 125,000 miles on it. I might keep an eye on it, but would much prefer something closer. I could get at least enough out of my xB to recover all my expenses, too. Just a thought.

Having CBs doesn't make us better?

John,
There are more gates into the bulldog canyon area than you mentioned, they have the same free combo and yes, these are marked trails although I cannot remember what number off hand. And if you all must know, the trail name is Willow Springs. I spend every weekend cruising around the desert just getting away from the city and I have found many trails that I want to share with you all. Im not all about dents but still I find those trails fun too. Go get your passes for bulldog everyone and lets go wheel. Like Isaid before, I will sponsor gas if need be, that sounds helpful to me!

And on another note, I have four used BFG Muds here, who needs a spare? I am going to take one and Toasty had his eye on one.

Primus is badass! Call me an instigator!

johnny, buy pauls he is still selling it and it would be cheaper than getting one on the other side of the country pluss it's been taken care of and has new 33's.

Tay you pay and i'll run the trail, just let me make some new sliders with my tax return.
