Well, I am back on the road again. Found out that the transmission "filter" really isn't a filter at all. Not sure what its real purpose actually is, but I just cleaned it and stuck it back in with new Toyota transmission fluid and a new pan gasket (19 little bolts). Circulated distilled water in the cooling system and drained that back out, then refilled with distilled, Water Wetter and long life coolant mix. Then I degreased the underhood area and called it done for now.

Then I changed the oil and filter on my renter's Ford (remote filter, stock, not easy to find at first), six quarts, jeez...

Today, I am going to try replacing the three engine/transmission mounts on the Scion and I will be ready to hit the pavement again. I have been shifting into neutral at every stop now for a couple of years due to the vibration that just drives me crazy. It's even worse with the a/c on. It won't be easy getting to all the bolts on these things, though.
