well just went out and swapped in another alternator i had into my 2dr and after putting it in reconnecting the battery and all i start the truck hmmm the idle didn't come up(cold start) then i looked over at the voltmeter OOOOOH MAN it was pegged all the way over must have been over 20V cause it was way past the 16V marker. I put the old alt back in and have driven it everything is fine but i think those high volts killed the idle speed motor <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" /> I'm pretty pissed but it could have been worse and burn the truck wiring harness or burned the whole truck down.

Update: waited couple hours to let it cool off and then went out started it up and ISC is working again i guess it just didn't like that high voltage couldn't operate right. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Well my summer cool down is moving along tonight a coworker gave me a full can of R12 and his guage mani fold for FREE. So hopefully the truck, myself and passengers will stay nice and cold, here soon <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Man.... we're all getting old :P Air conditioning....
5 more years and we'll all be towing campers to the trailhead, with satellite TV in 'em.... then we can just kick back at "camp" and watch something on discovery channel about people camping and hiking while the genny whirrs away outside.

Wow. Times are a'changing. LT+A/C? I know that's what i said, usually he rips out the A/C first thing on a new truck working or not. Damn wives always needing A/C, when the A/C clutch went out on my '94 I had to fix it why cant they just roll down the window?

toasty is right Wife is the only reason i'm putting any effort into trying to charge it, if it doesn't work after we put r12 into it, its never going to and its coming out.
a/c is nice but tomuch work to keep it
