As long as I can remember, mom has carried a VW key on her keyring. When I was younger, I asked her why, since we had never owned a WV.

Turns out my Mom was driving over Gauley Mountain in southern WV and a school bus came out of control around an icy turn and hit three cars, including mom's 67 Beetle.

Of the three cars, two got rolled off the road and rolled down the side of the mountain, killing all the passengers.

Her little Beetle was so short and squat, while it got creamed, it never did roll.

She keeps it as her lucky charm. Pretty cool. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
