Getting the Wheeling Fever

I had the same problem years ago in a Bronco. I just got in the habit of leaving it in drive when I killed the ignition, then shifting to park before removing the key. It obviously didn't fix the carbon problem but the engine stoped dieseling. This might buy you time till you can properly address the issue.
