Ten minutes work to be safe. I know a friend of mine wished he had taken the time. Major carnage. He was dolly towing his rig, 1983, single T-case, 4 inch lift. On the road about half an hour when all of a sudden the rear wheels locked up at 65-mph. Total carnage rear diff, tranny, both rear tires flat spotted and front d-shaft. He had both the tranny and t-case in neutral. What we figured happened was the severe front d-shaft angle and an unbalanced d-shaft caused the CV to let loose locking up the tranny and rear diff. Guess what, when he flat tows now he takes the ten minutes. Are you willing to chance it?
