Isuzu may have left the US market and last year GM sold their 12% interest in Isuzu, but Isuzu is still designing the midsize truck platform for GM.

I suspect the dealerships are glad to not sell the Isuzus. A couple of years ago I had a chance to speak with one of the salesman at the Buick/Isuzu dealership where I take my Trooper. As we stood by an i-270 I asked how sales were for the Isuzu trucks, his answer, slow. But its other comment that he made that actually caught my interest. He said Isuzus were good products but at the end of the warranty period (7 years) that was it, Isuzu would not support the the product. By contrast, GM allowed a fudge factor after the warranty was up. The example he gave, you pay the labor we buy the parts. Hence, he thought that the GM product was better, at least in the long run.
