I think I remember once reading that this caliper is from an agricultural application. Someone might try to take the caliper or a picture of it to their local farm machinery dealer/repair shop. Farmers are the classic do-it-yourselfers and tightwads, I can't picture them buying a new caliper if pads were available. -- Matt
