I had my 22r completely gone through by a very good machine shop. Now that I am re-assembling it I have noticed that the new timing chain seems a little long. The old one seemed long as well. I have always heard that most of the time the chain is so tight that it is hard to get on....mine just drops on easily. Could I have the wrong one? I can see where the new one could be wrong, but the old one too....

If you try to put the 98 link on a late engine it is a LOT long! The other way around is impossible.

When all is correct we find we can set the top gear into place with our hands, they are snug but not overly tight. This is with the tensioner arm fully compressed....*EB
