Getting the Wheeling Fever

I have an '89 3.0 V6, Auto, stock tires, 4.10 gears. I did a motor rebuild last spring, nothing special done to the motor, added the Downey header/exhaust kit. I get 19-20mpg freeway driving at 65-70 in OD. Around town I get 14-15, consistently, but I drive like a grandma, so, that helps.

Those mpg in the 20s are pretty amazing. My 15-16 mpg is definetly at the low end of things. Those of you geting in the 20s do you baby the gas pedal or just drive normal? I'm just driving normal when I hit the 20MPG+ But, ladder rack kinda killed the 20+MPGS.. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

22r, 5speed, 5.29's, 33's. About 3" lift over normal 4wd ride height. Getting 16-17mpg. Would probably be better if I geared it differently, but I like it the way it is. don't usually drive it daily, so not that big of a deal.

I am getting 15-16 right now, that is around town driving. Truck is an 85 on 33s w/4.10s and a 22R with a 261 cam. Also have the hubs locked and it is cold outside (-15 to 15F). In summer going about 65mph I can get 21 mpg. When I had 31s I would get 23 in the summer. (That is corrected for the tires)

I get from 21 to 23 normal highway driving. Well maintained K&N air filter, 2 1/4 exhaust, 235s, and a rebuilt carb. Is everyone posting corrected mpg?

Corrections for gears/tires if you haven't modified your speedo.

Speaking of which....does anyone make a replacement speedo gear to the R150 to correct the speedo? I know they have a digital unit for the electronic speedos, but I havent seen anything for the older cable driven toys.
