"sirus027- I noticed your in Ky, what area, know of any good off roading locations?"
I'm in central KY. I've only wheeled Livingston in my Jeep since my mall-crawler toyota is too pretty to bang up (rec camping mostly). I've also heard of Harland but have never gone there. 4x4 clubs would have better info - but Livingston is pretty cool. Oh, and my mpg above is "corrected" mpg.

Black mountain in Harlan County is supposed to be pretty good, but its a pretty long haul from where I live in Bourbon co. There is supposed to be some trails over in Slade near Natural Bridge state park but the local clubs wont give out much info unless your a member.

I shoot for about 2 oz per 10 gallons (2 shots from a shot glass per tank). I use the Home Depot Grade (~95% pure?) I ran it every tank but ran out and have not gotten more. I do it on long trips where I use more than a tank. I only use my 4rnr occassionally and the acetone seems to "spoil" the gas after 2-3 weeks. It results it 13-15 mpg for the remainder of the tank, so I don't use acetone when I'm not driving it much. That part I haven't proven. The 20% increase in mileage I have proven over and over and over.

I've read that the diluted acetone can be less effective because the "other" stuff that's added to it actually counteracts the gains that the acetone can produce. But, having said that, I've been reading reports from all over of people that are getting good gains on the regular cheap stuff. I've got some laying around the house. I'll try it before too long.

I get around 20-22 in the summer and 16-18 in the winter with 3.0, 5 speed, and stock 31x10.50's. My truck has 243,000 on it and the engine has only been apart once for the HG recall at around 120k. No other work was done besides the HG's, timing belt and water pump at that time. Yes, I really need to change my timing belt. I will do it once the weather warms up in the spring.
My truck was getting 14-16 before I used Seafoam several years ago and my mileage jumped up over 20.

after reading this, i think that im off a little. last year, i averaged 17-18 out of my truck, depending on how i was with the pedal. on christmas eve, i did my timing belt. since then, my milage has been 14-15 around town, and on my way down to school, i only managed my normal 17-18 on the highway. my last trip down here, on the old belt, i got 21. does this sound odd?
its a '90 3.0, no internal mods, just intake and full exhaust, with 31's and 4.10s. milage isnt corrected for gears, so maybe thats why im not likin what im seeing.
also, i saw someone ask if anyone had found a way to correct the speedo on an R150 tranny with a cable driven speedo. has anyone found one?

i didn't read *every* post so something like this might already be posted, but i'll post it up anyway i threw together a quick and dirty excel sheet to calculate mileage. not all of us with p/u's have sr5 gauges and trip meters i'm getting 12-14 mpg (ew!) but it's wintery, snowy and cold, here and i have a heavy foot in the snow with rwd [weee!]. also, i warm my truck up twice every day. i also have a full exhaust and 31x10.50's on 4.10's. Plus a HEAVY cap and sandbags during the winter. I do 90% city driving now as well, not much 5th gear. http://la.gg/upl/gas_mileage_calc_1.odsit's in Open Office format. sry mates, i don't have M$ office
