Need a Spot
I wanted a cold air intake for my 1991 Pajero. The rubber intake was 2.5", so I bought some 2"ABS pipe, a 2"-3" coupler and a High-Flow K&N Filter(part#E-1796)with a 3" flange from Canadian Tire(Part# 41-0108). Most of my driving is on the highway and the stock air box seemed very restrictive. It took a 1/2 hour to remove and install the filter. I will be building a lower spray skirt to protect it from the elements and I will be staying away from big puddles. I have noticed some extra power and gas mileage. The only flaw is I can hear the turbo whine more. If someone can tell me how to post pics I will. [Linked Image] [Linked Image]

At this stage, I only zap strapped the filter down. I will be building a tray beneath the filter to keep the water spray down. It was a cheap solution and it works great. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

That was a interesting read. I am not too worried about an extra 3%(6.6gr)of dust in my engine. The report states that the dust goes into the oil, so change you oil at recommemed intervals or more. But the underlining moral is sometimes flashy isn't better, but sometimes it looks cool. You should see the stuff that we breathe in, dead skin, dust mite poop, etc. Everyone would wear a hepa filter mask!! Thanks for the link.

Body Damage is Cool
eventually I am going to build all hard piping for my intake/intercooler. that accordian hose really restricts flow...I wouldn't mind putting a cone filter on the end aswell. I just have to get off my lazy @$$ and do it!! hahaha

I was looking at the air intake and you could get away with using PVC and intercooler silicone tubing to make some nice intake boxes.

always working
