Getting the Wheeling Fever
When ever I am accelerating up a hill or just at random times, usually in the same place as the day before, my parking brake light comes on. I know that this can be caused by not having enough brake fluid but I have checked the resivoar and it is pretty damn full. Does anyone know the cause of this problem?

Probably the sensor located at the top of the reservoir. I had mine topped as high as it would go and it would slowly fade in and out. I just unplugged it and check my fluids daily.

I guess you could replace yers as well...not sure how much they cost though.

Did you check the wiring on the parking brake switch? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Pour in as much fluid as it will hold, without spilling when you put the top back on. That should fix it. Mine has to be to the rim.

Thanks for the advice, I did this yesterday and it fixed the problem. Strange how the resivor had plenty of fluid but if its just a hair low the light will come on.

I picked up a '99 Runner last year; does the same thing. It's a lot more touchy about the brake fluid level than my old Toys.
