I recently bought a new clearwater head (no jet valves) and a new weber 38 outlaw. My old jet valve head was burning oil and my head gasket leaked oil and coolant. Montys also getting new water, oil, and fuel pumps, timing set, seals and gaskets. May do header, may not.

The adaptor plate blocks off passages to the ERG valve that I assume were used by the original carb (when i got my monty a year ago it already had a 14 year old weber 32/36). I dont see any cooling isuues to mess with. As for vacuum, I dont think you need any of them except from the one vacuum port on the carb to the distributor. You could also use the vacuum hook up on the manifold below the carb but ill be plugging mine and using the carb. port instead) On my intake manifold, i believe the only vacuum hook ups are for PCV and brake booster.
