Need a Spot
hey guys my name is mike and im new here at jeepaholics. Im in the process of doing a complete drivetrain swap into my 87 yj. Here's a rundown of whats already in my jeep. right now its has the the 258 with the junk Carter bbd carb, to make things worse I have junk Ba-10 5 speed and np231 tc. It has a 3.5" lift with 4wd hardware springs and shocks on the factory d35 rear and d30 front axles. It also has 35" MT baja claws on 15x10 MT classic II wheels. Oh yeah i did the nutter bypass previously also.

I'm A member of my local gun club and they had an old work truck they used for a few years. So i went down to check it out, and found out it was an 84 j20 with a 360,TF727,and np208. the non kingpin d44 front and full floating d60 rear. The body was in bad shape but they said i could have it for free, I can never turn down anything tahts free...lol. So anyway talked to some guys and found out the original owner was a member of the club, found out its got 73k original and besides the body engine trans and tc worked damn good... I was planning on putting some new guts in my yj anyway. so then the wheels started to spin and i figure the heck why not throw it all in my yj.

Now ive done quite a bit of reasearch and have found that most guys choose to go with the narrow track wagoneer axles. I know the 360 and tf727 will go in without much fuss.... but what are the main things i need to do to put the j20 d44 and d60 under my yj....I know the axles are a little wide but will the caster be too much ??? has anyone else done this??? I'm a welder/fabricator by trade and ive done alot of stuff in the past I just want to get started on the right foot for this project...Any help would be appreciated...
thanx,
mike...
