This post is not about Monteros.

Last fall I spent a semester abroad in S. Korea and saw all the neat and different ways they do things over there. One thing that piqued my engineering interest is the way they do trucks. I've always liked pickup trucks in the US, but after seeing the way that they do things in Asia I just can't love them anymore. I can't look at one without thinking how inefficient they are. My fondness for pickups is now gone. (My love for my Montero, on the other hand, is unaffected) Ever since I saw them I've been wanting one. They all have clean and neat little diesel inline-4s and sip fuel(because it's twice as expensive there). The one pictured below is a Hyundai Porter, which is a design licenced from/based on the Mitsubishi Delica frame, and sold in some world markets as the Dodge D100. So the family of Mitsubishi/Dodge expands to show Hyundai some love. (Monteros are sold as Hyundai Gallopers in Korea, click for pic ) Anyway, I now want to get my hands on one of these Hyundai Porter trucks, or any of the similar style. They're made by a few different companies (The Kia Bongo, I'm sure there are some Japanese ones too). I've found out that the Hyundais/Dodges are sold in Mexico as the H100. I don't think that Mitsubishi makes the Delica in a truck model anymore(it's primarily a cargo van now).

I took those while I was over there.

So my question is this: Has anyone ever seen one of these trucks in the US? Does anyone know where to get one domestically? Has anyone ever imported a car from Mexico? (Talk about going backwards in terms of the used vehicle market).

Thanks!

Edit: Looks like the Mitsubishi Fuso is the new hotness:
