Just this past Monday, my son called because his Monty would not start and was stuck in a nursing home driveway (maybe a sign of where it thinks it should stay?) I told him to first try moving the shifter to neutral and trying it and if that didn't work, then try holding the key to start and then wiggling the shifter handle back and forth. Warned him to keep his foot on the brake, too, just in case. Calls back a few minutes later saying it had started when he tried holding the key and wiggling the shifter. He was amazed - wanted to know how the heck I knew that would work! I'm a god in his eyes thanks to my reading these forums.
BTW, daan, he and his Monty (he named it Guentar) are in Moorehead, MN. Must be a bad winter for Minnesota Monties. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />
