The dimensions are the same....I also assume that the mounting holes are the same.

I have heard the defrosting vents and the wiper motor placement was different but have no way to confirm. I have not found anyone who has done this conversion. Can anyone confirm the venting or motor placement?

I suspect the YJ and CJ-7 windshield frames are different; just look at replacement W-S- frames ads, frames are listed with different part numbers. Wish I could find my frame spec guide ... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

I swapped a YJ frame to my CJ the only difference I noticed was the CJ frame is hollow all around, the defrost has to heat up the entire windshield frame which has the effect of cooling the air in it, not a big deal in California but here the winters can go as low as 45 below with the wind chill. The YJ frame had a baffle welded or formed into it a little ways up on each side which meant the defroster gets a shorter path to the windshield and doesn't have to warm up the whole windshield channel. Other than that the one I got was the same dimensions etc as the CJ.

84 CJ7 304 HEI 35 BFG,s rear dana 60 with detroit locker,Viar compressor, fibreglass body, 2 1/2 spring lift, TF999auto, Warn 8000 winch, Plus a cool little trailer on 35,s. JEEP stands for just empty every pocket
