what gives I cant figure out what I did wrong. I adjusted the valves perfectly and then I did a retorque on the head bolts(it didnt need much). and when I went to start it, it seemed flooded after I cranked it over a couple of times( I could smell gas) so I mashed the pedal and it fired up, and after it settled down it idles rough. it doesnt seem like its running bad it revs fine just like someone turned down the idle alot. I only have 100 miles on the motor and Im freaking out. please help. its a 22re if that matters. how can it flood ints fuel injected? and what the hell is wrong with it?

>>>*Since snugging the headbolts would not have an effect, that can be discounted.

Adjusting the valves certainly could. The symptoms of a valve set too tight will be a rougher than normal idle.

If the ends of the adjuster screws are worn a bit this can make accurate adjustment difficult if not impossible.

There is also the chance something got bumped loose, a vac line, wire, etc....*EB

YES, I have had the half moon wear on them, impossible to adjust them with that... even if you do get them adjusted the (end of the moon wears fast) and back to clicking.

I wished you lived next door. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
