One thing about Advanced Auto & Auto zone alternators: You will get VERY good at replacing that part on your truck.

I will say this if no one else has...

Take off the plenum and every SINGLE one of those little butterfly valve "plates" and just put them back on with RED LOCTITE !!!

Otherwise, you're gonna be (I'd bet good money on it) sucking one of them in at a later time due to a few tiny, $ .10 bolts loosening on you

And then it's a head / valve job

Body Damage is Cool
On that same subject, you should check to see if there's any play in the end of the variable intake butterfly shaft before you dive into your project. If there's any slop, the bushings that support the shaft are worn & you'll soon have a significant vacuum leak if there isn't one already. The movement in the shaft contributes to the butterfly plates coming loose. Plan on replacing your lower intake manifold if that shaft is moving at all.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
Just from what I've seen so far- Change valve cover gaskets, spark plug tube seals, If valve cover areas are clean of oil residue no need to do cam/crank seals(look in filler neck), cut timing belt cover around crank so harmonic balancer removal not required next time.Lube all wiring connectors.Check plug boots, change wires. Remove butterflies- plug with 5/8 frost plug. Keep actuator in place for computer. Plug egr and add resistor.Wet and dry compression check.Good Luck
