wow thats good knowledge on the fixed yoke conversion you did to your mitsu case. Gives me a little hope for the mitsu case.

Its not hard. The only problem I had was getting the output shaft drilled. I think Mitsu when a little overboard with the case hardening. I went through several machine shops here in Denver and a couple in CA before I finally found someone that could drill and tap the shaft.

And, I almost forgot! There is a TINY little oil hole in the stock yoke towards the flange end. If you have the yoke redone like I did make SURE whoever does it doesn't miss that hole. It needs to be welded closed if they don't cut back the yoke that far. If it's left open, even though it doesn't look like it would do anything, it will leak fluid like a sive!!!

They just BARELY missed it on mine and when I filled the t-case up I had oil running out all over.

It is possible to do the exact same thing to the rear. The only problem with the rear output shaft is it has to be disassembled before it's drilled and taped. I wouldn't recommend getting metal bits into all the gee-gaws on that shaft. I don't have the 'special tools' required to do that otherwise I would have done the rear the same time I did the front. And, the slinger shield needs to be removed; tap it off with a mallet.
