Need a Spot
i just bought a "83 22R with 46,000km's on it that im planin on puttin in my truck in place of the old worn-out 20R. would it be worth gettin some head work done 2 the 20R head n puttin it on my 22R block? im runnin a top-load 4-speed, 4.38 gears, posi rear n 33" tires but thinkin bout upgradin 2 35"s. any suggestions would be great!

Body Damage is Cool
If you're upping your tire size, the most effective upgrade you can do is regearing.
For 35's, I'd go with 5.29's.
It will bring your speedo back to near stock readings.

Roll Me Over
You can achieve some power gains w/the 20r head on the 22r, but wont likely see any of it w/33's(or 35's), and 4.30's. Your cheapest performance gain would be to swap a 5-spd for the 4-spd, then regear w/5.29's, so you can run 35's when the time comes.

More than tread lightly. Leave it like you were never there, nor anyone else.

Leave the engine alone and re-gear. You can get junkyard diffs with 4.88's fairly cheap if you shop around (car-parts.com).
