! How difficult is it to replace the radiator?

it's alot less difficult to do it now...not later.
Sounds like a good project if you want to get your hands dirty.

i would start by wiping down the area to identify the exact location of the leak (might just be the hose). Then if it is really tiny holes in the radiator, patch them with puddy until you find a replacement part.

Holes are probably caused by something... acid from old coolant eating it up, or soft radiator rubbing on hard steel... so fix the cause and the symptom

Very good recomendation. I killed a good vehicle a few years ago trying to save a couple of bucks.

With a radiator and cooling systems most of the problem is just dirty work. Cooling problem can be very expensive

thanks everyone for the info. One last question re oil pressure gage. Where should the needle settle when driving at high speeds, say 65mph? Before I had this work done the need on the gage would always be around the 30, and now that this works has been done its settles around the 60 slightly higher. Thanks.

The stock oil pressure gauge is unreliable. Most people who still have them report readings that vary widely and don't necessarily correspond to what the operating pressure should be at any given point. I like what one guy recently called it--an analog idiot light.

Sounds like the work you had done freed up the passage to the sender, making it read higher. Doesn't mean that it's accurate now though. As long as it's reading something you should be OK.

Okay, thanks. The mechanic said the same thing, that this gage is very unreliable and that I should check my oil weekly (which I do anyway).
