99 Runner, still learning about 'er.

I pulled over the other night to do some Aurora viewing; shut off the headlights, but left the parking lights on.
When I went to get back in the truck, I noticed I didn't have any front parking lights; the rears were fine.

These are in the lenses outboard of the headlight assemblies, correct?

FWIW, I think this might be some leftover collateral damage; my carfax check on this rig revealed it was the aft vehicle in a rearend accident.

I just wanted to check before I started wrangling needlessly with getting those lenses off for a bulb change.

Thanks!

Are you talking about the parking lights right next to the headlights?

<|{}-------{}|>

<| and |> being the parking lights that you're refering to?

lol, $hitty drawing, I know LOL

But, if those are the ones, they've gone out twice on My Taco in the past 6 months, only two screws holding them in.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
It'd be kinda strange for both parking lights to fail in tandem. I'd check the power wiring (should be green wires leading out from the 10A Tail (yes - taillight) fuse.

I also notice on the wiring diagram that both parking lights ground to the same point (somewhere on the front left fender).

Are your front turn signals working? The reason I mention this is because (according to that generation's wiring diagram) the front signals also ground to the same place. If all parking / signal lamps are dead I'd take that as a clue to a probably grounding issue. Just my .02 ...

Of _course_ I know the difference... I don't want you to kiss a hole in the ground.

Turn signals are fine; would've been addressed a long time ago if not. Both the bulbs for the rear plate were burned out when I bought it, so....>shrugs<

I can usually count on replacing the 2nd headlight on my old Toys within a month or so of the first one going out, so won't be overthinking this one. I hate pulling lenses off the newer stuff, that's all.

Won't take much to give the ground a visual, esp being's this thing had a collision history.
