If the right gaskets were used (OEM) and the deck and head were checked for flatness it will last a long time. My HG's were done in 98 and it is still going strong.

For S & G's do a search on blown HG's and count how many 22r's there are compared to the 3.0's. 22r's in my opinion have a HG problem also.
