A truly informed opinion is what our Founding Fathers intended to steer the electoral process. --- Simply voting along party lines, or relying on water-cooler conversations and hearsay (or their modern equivalent - namely, the opinions of media pundits, commentators, and correspondents) is tantamount to blatant ignorance.
Whatever your personal political views might be, it is your responsibility as a voter to be familiar with what each candidate has to sayà to listen to, consider, and reflect upon their actual words -- not merely the selected sound bites and regurgitated/spoon-fed media tripe; but rather, to actually take the time to hear and ponder the entirety of what they each have to sayà and only then choose a candidate.
That said, here is a video of a speech (the
WHOLE speech) that should be viewed by anyone who intends to vote in this election û whether or not you plan to vote for this candidate is irrelevant; it is not the messenger, but rather the actual message itself that is important:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWe7wTVbLUU&eurl= In watching this 37+ minute video, in its entirety, I have to confess that I was impressed to see (for a change) that the candidate was addressing the audience as though everyone were sentient adults û far more like the great orators from decades past than anything I have come to expect from a politician in my lifetime.
Am I swayed enough to vote for this candidate? û Noà
But an extraordinarily valid point has been made, and hopefully the other candidates will take notice of it; henceforth paying our collective acumen the same much-deserved respect.
