Supe I'd rather have the discs, for all the reasons you list and maybe others too.
My position is that if one needs new shoes on the back end and intends to spend 800/$1,000. to put discs back there he should KNOW the Jeep ain't gonna be a new one when he gets finished with the modification.
For that same $1,000. a guy can get a winch, new tires and wheels or a whole lot of other things that would benefit the Jeep more than a disc modification.
