Can anyone help out a greenhorn at this? My brother and I are looking into converting his 1989 montero v6 gas burner into a diesel. Which diesel motor will fit requiring the less mods.? We are trying to get him over to burn biodiesel and his gas burner is about to puke.

I would try to find a 4d56 or something like that. It should be pretty easy to retrofit. Just remember to make sure you have enough cooling capacity for the diesel you choose.
