Well, gents, I looked all over and all the salvage yards that claimed to have a locked rear diff only had either an open diff or an LSD.

I ended up getting a pretty good buy on a pair of diffs from an XLS and had these installed in my Limited.

While at it, I went ahead and had the ARB locker installed in the front.

First impressions:
Towing with the new 4.9 gears is much better. I went from my speedometer showing 8% less speed to showing %5 more speed. So, that's a 13% difference from where I was and 5% better than stock with the 265/70/16 tires and 4.3:1 gears.

Instead of running in 4th and 3rd gears, it mainly runs in 5th and 4th gears.

The locker too is great. This weekend I went specifically on trails I've had trouble with in the past. This time, the truck crawled right up without hesitation.

What an upgrade.

So, I just wanted to let people know that if you're now running 33" tires and want to get back the power you've lost and you have the 5-speed A/T, you can get it with the 4.9 gears.
