Yes, but note that the OE exhaust manifold nuts are bronze or some other copper alloy.... useful to eliminate rust that always rears its ugly head when it's time to remove exhaust fasteners.

Nuts with spiral lock washers won't stay tight. The lock washers lose temper and tension when heat cycled. Loctite won't work, either. I've donated several nuts to the road that way. Might work for a week until you get the real thing, and might not. My best "other source" solution was to use flat washers, loctite, and flange nuts with serrations on the flange.

The BEST solution is to Safety wire. Thats what I'm gonna do on my Chevelle when I have stainless 2.25 inch primary headers, and a Big ole T-4 sitting on top of each bank. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

if you put cherry mylanta on the studs before you install the new nuts they will stay tight until you need to remove them the mylanta works like lock tight

TT Chevelle? Sounds nice. I work on a collection of 200 GM muscle cars & there are 23 Chevelles. Gonna be a museum in 6 months or so.
