I am with Bob and Brown on this. wheel it stock and have recovery equipment first., you will need it. It helps you learn proper approach angles and what you and your jeep are capable of. I would add a comealong ( a cable hand winch that you crank by hand) to the list of basics maybe even 2.I would like to add cb radio a really good antannae and a few freinds to come with/ follow you in case of emergency/getting stuck. nothing sucks more than getting stuck alone,or in an accident without help nearby. and a really nice first aid kit to be on the safe side. followed by the bumpers and winches,then lift and tires, and i don't mean the econo lifts with blocks or spacers,or body lift,don't trust them ,never will. You will also have to change gears when you lift and add larger tires. your engine will have trouble turning those tires with improper gearing. There are lots of posts in here on first timers look in those as well for tips. do the search link thing look up stuff like cb , winches, so on and so forth. and always listen to us we know what we are talking about,we been there don that got stuck there dug our way out and so on. the main thing is to be safe and enjoy yourself.

1 more thing to the first time gotta have/ stay in the jeep no matter what is a camera. for the simple reason we want to see the action,scenery,or the crap you get stuck in. we as four wheelers are required to due so in a form of unwritten till now code lol. don't worry we all got stuck at some point,we all had some sort of accident at some point and we all had embarresing things happen. so we won't laugh we will just ask what you learned from it and help the best we can to tell you the proper approach or whatever.
you will learn quickly we are like a family ,including the arguments from time to time but don't worry many of us been here long enough to know what each other means.
