o2 sensor it sounds like to me, have it tested. Mine done the same thing a few years back until i hooked it to a scanner and founed it wasn't going into the proper loop.
out of all the jeeps in this town the d**n gremlin had to invade mine

after you change that coil make sure your plug wires arent trading voltage. check your vacuum lines especially on that dang map sensor on the firewall. by the way what year is she & what engine? how many miles on her. i wonder if the crank sensor vibrated loose or got bumped. mine did that when some brush hit it.& my girl died right there the motor did all sorts of funky timing stuff.
