You need a 12" caliper to measure the drum ID. If it is smaller than 297mm it should be fit for service. Have a good look first, especially at the shoe and drum surfaces. Maybe you can hear the noise if you jack up a wheel & turn it while someone presses the brake lightly or the parking brake is pulled out a few clicks.

If the shoes are glazed maybe the glaze can be sanded off. Sucks to replace new parts.

I have some spare brake hardware (got some with that axle) but none of these items are wear parts. The little steel cables for the parking brake might stretch some but there is an adjuster to take that up. The springs are fine if all the coils are touching when it is unloaded.

Does it sound like metal/metal grinding? How loud is it?
