Again: Thank you for the help!

It sounds like metal to metal and its moderately loud. I can hear it grind with my windows up or down in light traffic pretty easy. There is also a whistle: Now, it could be the driveshaft as when I hit the brakes the noise is not affected, I dunno. Tuesday I am driving to the driveshaft place and seeing what they can do and by weds/thursday I will probably have new parts for the rear.

I am gonna get the outside caliper and measure it, but have the parts on standby before I take it apart. The shoes I sanded the glaze off after we cut the drums, but imho once they get that stupid glaze (BTDT on other cars) it is worthless.

The grinding was getting worse and worse the more I drove and used the brakes. For awhile I knew something was up, but I only drove it up and down the block or maybe out onto the main road a little to test it, the noise was there and so was the grinding-but it wasnt as bad if you had taken a trip and been on the brakes for a good half hour. Like I had yesterday.
