$500 is a good price for a nice little low miles pickup. You'll be having to do some major engine work if the valves are truly bent. So, if you can do the work yourself with little help, you could have a nice little pickup for another grand or so. But if you have to have someone else rebuild the motor and do the R&R then it could get expensive. If it were me I'd jump on it. But I do all my own wrenching and rebuilding.
